"Putting Up One Thing After Another" is a vibrant, multi-layered composition created in the artist’s Lowell, MA studio during the spring of 2018. The painting began on a raw canvas, which was first doodled on with Sharpie marker to establish an initial composition. This was followed by an intricate process of water manipulation, where the canvas was sprayed and the water was worked into the fibers with a rubber paint-spreading tool. The artist then dripped low viscosity acrylic paint onto the wet canvas, allowing the pigments to spread and create soft gradients, resulting in a dyed effect that adds depth and subtlety to the background.

The piece features a dynamic combination of techniques, including layers of poured paint, thick smears of heavy body acrylic in primary colors, and bright doodles made with Krink brand paint markers. These elements, along with controlled paint drips, contribute to the chaotic yet harmonious composition that characterizes the work. The incorporation of collage elements, such as QR code stickers from a separate project and a shiny KRINK promotional sticker, adds an extra layer of visual intrigue, blending the personal with the universal and the abstract with the tangible.
