The name of this piece is inspired by the headphone company “Skull Candy.” I replaced Skull with Jaw because the main focal point for this piece is the jaw of the head in the upper middle area of the piece. This drawing is the first of many to come from my trip to Greece. Living out of a backpack i limited myself to only pencils, markers and pens for 7 weeks, as well as a small coiled sketchbook. This piece began a series of small drawings with the main focus being on highly expressive faces, form and geometry all living together cohesively on the paper. Many new ideas and inspirations came out of this time and are reflected later in my newest BiZY’23 paintings.
