“Just Jump In” - A plein air watercolor sketch poolside this morning at Barton Springs Pool. A marvelous morning for a swim in the waters of Barton Springs which, is the undisputed heart & soul of Austin, Texas. New social distancing rules now apply to those swimmers lucky to get tickets for a two hour block to swim. City staff and lifeguards then clean public areas before the next group is allowed in. A KEYE film crew was there to report on the new pool rules in response to Covid 19. I couldn’t help but paint the colorful landscape and sunlit water, but also the people of all colors that make Austin such a wonderful city. Not to be lost in this current context we are all in, is the need for the pensive couple on the far side of the pool to “Just Jump In” there’s nothing to be afraid of - the water is fine.
