A whimsical reimagining of the traditional trophy head, this sculptural work is made entirely from reclaimed and discarded materials. A steel armature supports woven metal strapping salvaged from a lumber store, while an upcycled heat shield recovered from behind the fireplace of a settler home forms the six-point rack.
The strapping traces the structure like a three-dimensional line drawing—part gesture, part sketch, part cultural artifact. Through weaving and repurposing, the work comments on the culture of trophies, status, consumption, and display. What once served a utilitarian purpose is transformed into a playful emblem: a trophy not of conquest, but of resourcefulness, persistence, and the possibilities of discarded matter.
