Courtney Egan

b. 1966

Courtney Egan’s projection-based light installations weave botanical art with sculpture and technology. Strongly inspired by the profusion of native and non-native flora in New Orleans, where she has lived and worked in since 1991, she digitally manipulates the natural world, questioning how our perception of nature is modulated through technology. Solo shows include the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Arthur Roger Gallery, and the Louisiana Art and Science Museum. She was an artist-in-residence at the Santa Fe Art Institute and at Louisiana Artworks in New Orleans. She is a founding member of the New Orleans-based visual arts collective Antenna Gallery, and holds an M.F.A. from Maryland Institute College of Art.

Cristina Molina

Cristina Molina is a visual artist who hails from the subtropics of Miami and currently lives and works in New Orleans—two environmentally precarious sites that have influenced her research on identity, loss, and disappearing landscapes. Spanning performance, video installation, photography, and textile design, Molina’s artwork is set amongst vulnerable terrains both real and imagined. Using the language of magical realism, her works reshape and centralize little-known narratives to upend dominant histories.

Molina’s projects are typically collaborative and often include the participation of The Crystal Efemmes—a collective that produces immersive installations and performances with feminist agendas and mythical proposals. From 2014-20 Molina was a member of the New Orleans artist-run project, The Front where she curated artwork and co-organized The Front’s annual film festival. Cristina Molina is an Associate Professor and Gallery Director at Southeastern Louisiana University where she received the 2018 President’s Award for Excellence in Artistic Activity and was the recipient of the Viola Brown Endowed Professorship in Visual and Dramatic Arts from 2020-22.

David Sullivan

David Sullivan creates prints, computer programs and animations combining analog and digital techniques. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and grew up in New Orleans, where he currently lives. He studied painting at Louisiana State University (BFA) and Maryland Institute, College of Art (MFA). His work was in the Southern Open 2010 at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette, Louisiana, and in “Hot Up Here” at the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans. Internationally, he has shown at Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria, File in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and in Antarctica. He was an artist resident at Louisiana Artworks and A Studio in the Woods, and has taught digital media at several universities in New Orleans.
