The design explores a journey of redemption and transformation, illustrating how reflection, forgiveness, and positive choices can guide a young man from innocence through struggle to renewed connection with community.
Inspired by stories shared by students, Lamaj’s design follows a young man’s path from innocence to transformation. The composition begins with a boy blowing bubbles—symbols of reflection and joy. At the center, the teenager stands stunned by the reality of his life, the bubbles serving as reminders of what he has lost. The final figure, shown in prayer, embodies forgiveness—both offered and sought—and reflects the positive choices that lead him back to community. Through his distinctive style, Lamaj captures a narrative of redemption and change often expressed within JJIC cohorts.
