Elijah T. Sproles, IV
Since moving to New Hampshire, Sproles has focused mainly on furniture making with an emphasis on chairs. As an artist, he is drawn to chairs because of their sculptural angles and positive and negative space. As a craftsman, he appreciates the simple tools used to create a chair. He uses this combination of artistry and craftsmanship to produce his work, striving to make each piece beautiful and suitable for everyday use.
In 2019, Sproles set up his business, Stick & Slab, at his shop in Warner, NH. He creates handmade furniture to order using local wood. He hopes to be able to offer classes in furniture making in the future.
