Excerpt from artist’s Impact Statement: " I wanted to show the significance of what Dion and the other protesters were doing by going against the unjust laws that existed then. So, I decided to represent the power of law enforcement with a looming shadow and by showing the officer’s shoes as if he was coming to detain the unwanted customers."
