About the artist

Patricia Yancovitz

American

Pat Yancovitz' photography focuses on the unique pastoral scenes offered by the East End of Long island, from farmscapes to boatyards. Her body of work about New York City concentrates on architecture, vanishing buildings and street scenes. Elements of rusty metals, deterioration, and gritty materials show up in photographs from both locations.
She has expanded her work to include solarplate etchings of photos, mixed media and collage with photographs and acrylic paint, and abstract paintings inspired by photographs. Her newest series is a collection of encaustic images. Encaustics allow the layering of photographs, paint, pastels and other media covered by wax.
Her photographs have been exhibited in galleries in New York City, Long Island and New Jersey. As a member of Professional Women Photographers, she served on the Board and was Director of Exhibitions.
In 2019, she won the Cityscape category in the Julia Margaret Cameron International Competition. Her work is on Instagram @pyancovitz. Inquiries to patyancovitz@gmail.com.
