6" x 24" x 2" | Textured Fused Glass on Whitewashed Wood Panel
Shop Description
Where the Sky Opens is a contemporary fused glass artwork that explores the quiet transition between earth and sky. Layers of transparent and opaque glass, hand-drawn linework, and raised architectural forms create depth and movement against a rich gradient of blues that shifts from deep indigo to soft, luminous light.
A slender vertical line draws the eye upward through the composition, connecting the clustered forms to the open space above. The result is a sense of possibility—as though the landscape is expanding and the horizon is inviting you to look beyond what is immediately visible.
Mounted on a handcrafted whitewashed wood panel, this one-of-a-kind piece reflects my fascination with abstract landscapes and the balance between structure and openness. Its tall, narrow format makes it an elegant statement on its own or as part of a curated grouping.
Mounted on a wood panel with softly whitewashed sides, the artwork includes a miniature fused glass "tattoo" on the edge—a small companion design that extends the composition beyond the front surface and rewards a closer look from every angle.
This one-of-a-kind piece brings together bold color, layered texture, and graceful movement in a contemporary abstract designed to invite new discoveries every time it's viewed.
