Soft layers of aqua, teal, warm gold, and charcoal create a quiet backdrop for a gathering of individually crafted glass elements. Raised forms and intersecting lines add depth and movement, catching the light throughout the day and revealing new details from every perspective.
Part of my Glasscapes series, Gathered Light is inspired by the places where structure and atmosphere come together. The composition suggests a moment of connection—a collection of shapes, colors, and textures finding balance within a calm, open space.
Each piece is created through multiple kiln firings and features individually cut, painted, and layered glass components. The artwork is mounted on a hand-painted wood panel with a coordinating fused glass accent on the side, extending the design beyond the front and making the sculpture engaging from every angle.
Whether displayed as a focal point or paired with other works in the Glasscapes series, Gathered Light brings a sense of quiet energy, depth, and contemporary elegance to any space.
I added my signature glass "tattoo" design on the whitewashed side of the panel which mimics the front and adds interest.
