A Quiet Orbit

A Quiet Orbit is a textured fused glass piece from my Glasscapes series.
This piece explores movement and connection through layers of textured glass, hand-painted color, and drawn lines. Three partial circles move through the composition, creating a sense of orbit and giving the piece a different rhythm from my other Glasscapes. They surround and intersect the clusters of dimensional glass, drawing your eye around the surface and back into the center.
I especially love the way the raised glass elements catch the light against the deep blue background. The combination of color, texture, line, and dimension gives the piece something new to discover each time you look at it.
As with several pieces in this series, I've also added a small glass tattoo to the side—a tiny coordinating design that becomes a fun detail when you view the piece from an angle.
