Dual Ink Figure Study
Executed with two complementary ink colors, Alan Wood-Thomas layers fluid, continuous lines to build a composition that is both structural and spontaneous. The contrasting inks separate gesture from form, allowing overlapping contours to suggest movement, depth, and evolving thought rather than fixed anatomy. Through this economical yet sophisticated technique, the artist transforms a simple figure study into an exploration of rhythm, transparency, and the expressive possibilities of line alone.
