Artist’s Statement: The beauty of nature has always inspired my work. While hiking in the hills and around my neighborhood in Oakland, I gather plants, pods, and flowers, and bring them back to my studio. Using a large etching press, I build up inks and plant materials gradually in multiple press runs. I then piece and collage the resulting sheets into a horizontal format, suggesting the marking of time and seasons of the year.
