About the artist

Matt Venuti

MATT VENUTI is a multi-instrumentalist and "sound alchemist" whose performances create a sonic portal for connection and wonder. A master of rare and highly expressive acoustic and electronic instruments, Matt was a pioneer in introducing the world to the Electronic Valve Instrument (EVI) and the Hang—the melodic, percussive Swiss creation that inspired Handpans. His performances are more than just music; they are immersive journeys that blend technical artistry and soulful, acoustic expression…creating music and sound that is both innovative and deeply organic.

Through his "AmeriCosmos" multimedia show and the immersive "Music and Sound Alchemy" experience, Matt orchestrates a dialogue between twelve different instruments, a looping device, and his voice. His music has been lauded by Thomas Dolby, Herbie Hancock, George Lucas, and Matt Groening. His yearly tours typically circumnavigate the US, with up to 80 performances. Two of Matt’s albums appeared in the top 10 on College (CMJ) Radio Charts and the Zone Music Reporter.

It's hard to do just one: Performing for the visitors and staff on a regular basis, performing and capturing video in the Cypress Dome, the 100 mile boat journey with the hydrologists and the video that came out of that...and many more.
