While an AIRIE resident, I produced a diary-like blog about my time exploring and researching the Everglades. When I returned to California, I resumed work on a large body of mixed media drawings I describe as the observations of a naturalist working at the intersection of fable and fact; a complete appreciation of nature requires us to interweave reason with imagination, and these works on paper are my attempt to do so. Oscillation study (anhinga) was inspired by the hours I spent watching anhingas hunt in the sloughs alongside Anhinga Trail.
