My name is Elysia De La Cruz, and I am passionate about art. Born and raised in Roxbury, Boston, this vibrant neighborhood has been my muse and mentor. The artwork I present today is a testament to its soul, capturing the essence of its streets. I tend to paint portraits that take on the form of semi-realism. Recently I’ve been indulging in abstract and finding a balance between abstraction and semi-realism when painting new pieces. Landscapes and close-up portraits are usually my thing, but I want to explore more of finding my inspiration with abstract art that will speak to people.
