The “Landscape Gallery” mural is inspired by the vastness of the Adams County open
spaces and celebrates the flora and fauna teeming throughout the parks system. The
pathway is symbolic of the vital roles South Parks maintenance employees and rangers
play as both a bridge for the public into our natural spaces and as stewards to the
environment. The mural’s design is meant to create a sense of organic movement as it
flows through structural frames. It honors the delicate balance of camouflage and visibility
in our ecosystem through it’s use of textures, patterns, and colors. Plants and animals
highlighted in the mural include cattails, bulrush, cottonwood trees, coyote willow, white
tail deer, beaver, turkeys, carp, mallards, catfish, American white pelicans, and red-winged
black birds.
